I have disabled call forwarding and simulring 3 times over the past two months and somehow it keeps re-enabling it. It is frustrating because I cannot call home from my cell phone when it does this. The reason being that my cell is the number it is trying to ring to, and it causes my call to forward into my cell's voice mail.
The funny thing is it does not do it right away. Sometimes as much as week or more will pass before it re-enables itself out of the blue.
But here is the kicker, I cannot remove my cell number from the forwarding or simulring list. When I clear the field, it will immediately repopulate it the second I navigate away from that page. However, it does not re-enable the feature itself right away. As I said, that will happen a week or so later. Also, if I choose "reset" on the simulring page, instead of wiping out my number, it just repopulates it!
Has anyone experienced this? It's very frustrating. After 3 different times |

Are you logging into Vonage Talk? Evertime you log into it, simulring will re-enable itself. |

Yep. It's stupid that Vonage will not allow people to clear the numbers that have been entered into the list. I don't get it whatsoever. I've experienced it and it is the VT doing it. |

Now it makes sense! Yes, Vonage Talk is on my computer. I rarely use it, but it boots automatically when I reboot my computer. I'll have to disable that.
Of course, that wouldn't be a problem if I could remove my cell number from the stinkin list! What is wrong with these people? |

Yes it is stupid not to allow you to remover a number. I know it isn't a fix to the problem but a work around would be to put a non-existent number in the simulring box. |

This is all caused by a bug in the back end process with Vonage Talk. And since this product has been discontinued during it's Alpha / Beta stage, it is no longer being developed or supported. What is happening is that when you log in and log out of Vonage Talk, there are Null entries being created in a provisioning database that handle the calling features such as Simul-Ring. This is what is causing the issue.
If you PM me a form of information such as your device MAC address or username, I will remove the Null entries for you. You can provide me with your TN however I refrain from asking for that as it is not proprietary information that only someone at Vonage could use.
Also note that even after it is fixed, if your Vonage Talk logs in at any point, it is going to create a Null entry again. I advise not using it. |
