I need to replace my Vonage device. I see that the RTP300 is well liked, but it contains a router. I already have a WIRED network thru a Linksys router and don't want a device with another router in it.
Anyone know of a Vonage device that connects TO an exisiting router?
Thanks, Bert |

You can use any device not as a router. It won't cause any harm either way to connect a router-containing device to your network. If you really want a device that does not contain a router, the Linksys PAP2 and D-Link VTA both are TA devices without a router. |

I have been using the Motorola VT2442 just as an ATA downstream of my WRT54G router for several weeks and it has been great.
Since 2005, the four RTP300 I have used have overheated and failed. The VT2442 runs much cooler than the RTP300. Could be local to me, my AC is always a little hot at 121 VAC |
