Hi,

I recently sent the Vonage v portal to my family in Pakistan. The display just stuck on "Updating Firmware". I tried reseting but it doest work.

Below is the configuration

Router Net Gear wgr614 v7
A wire from router to Blue port

I would call Voange and see if they could push the firmware to the Vonage router. It appears the Vonage Router has an internet connection.

If after resetting the device does not download the most recent firmware which is version 2.8.1_2.2.8, call tech support and have them push the firmware update to your device.

Tech support will most likely need to push it, but you could ask them about installing via the locally connected PC. No sure if that is possible without unlocking the router.

Ok i am reeving this error now . I think it has updated the firmwire.

Is the Vonage device still showing it is connected to the internet and do you have internet to your PC that is connected to the Vonage device?

If not and you are connected to a DSL connection, but your PC connected directly connects to the internet, you may need to clone your PC's MAC address to the Vonage device.

If the VDV21 is unable reach Vonage's tftp server to download the profile, this could be due to your ISP's supplied DNS servers are unable to resolve to tftp.vonage.net All Vonage devices are hardcoded with Vonage's own static DNS servers however the default image the VDV21's have on them from factory use the DNS servers that the WAN port of the VDV21 for everything except for the SIP proxy FQDN.

So the first thing to check is if you can resolve tftp.vonage.net from running an nslookup from your command prompt. If your not able to, you would need to configure static IP info along with statically assigned DNS servers. Your can use 4.2.2.1 as the primary DNS server or any other that you find on the internet.
