I've just installed Vonage, and have my phone plugged into Port #1, as instructed. I'm getting an error message from the Vonage box. It says:
Error [Code 007] Phone may be plugged into incorrect green port.
There are a couple of issues here:
1. Despite the error message, the phone actually works fine when plugged into Port #1..
2. If i plug the phone into the other green port (Port #2), the error message goes away, but the phone has no dial tone, and i get an automated message telling me that the phone may by plugged into the wrong port.
If anyone can shed any light on this problem, i'd be very happy. Thanks.
Edit: I just checked, and the phone line going into the V-Portal is a 4-pin, not a 2-pin line. Could this be the problem? |

Yes, the 4 pin cord is a problem. Your phone (or whatever connected) is probablly shorting the outter pair to ground. If you switch to a 2 pin cord the message will go away. |

Thanks. I'll pick up a two-pin cord tomorrow. |
