I live in southern IN, my ISP is a WiFi provider called NetSurfUSA and it's speeds are about 512kbit down and 128kbit up.
The modem is a Motorola VT2142-VD.
The issue is when you push the talk button you get nothing for a few moments then a loud beep and the phone says Unavailable.

It sounds like your cordless phone is not registered its base station. Can you try a different telephone, such as one that is wired?

Well it's fixed.
I have no clue what the difference would be but earlier I unplugged everything from the power strip and the problem persisted.
Now I unplugged the AC cord from the back of the reciever and when I came back from a smoke and tried it was good to go.

That might have been it then. Cutting the power forced the base station to location the handset again.

I'm screwed if my phone stops working. I DON'T SMOKE.
