Hello Steve,
Thanks a million!!! Your comments yesterday got me rechecking the entire wiring and I guess I was doing something incorrect. While connecting the V2142 to the switch I used to connect the Ethernet end assuming that was because I was connecting the LAN. Your comment made me realize that switch was supplying the connectivity to it, and I should have connected the blue internet end (WAN side) of V2142 to the switch. On doing that and resetting, we haven't had much problems since yesterday touch wood!!!
I would like to keep this on for a couple of days more before I can conclude that we had done it.
Present configuration is:
XAVI X7721r+connected in bridge mode to one of the ports of DLink DES-1008V switch.
DHCP server is enabled for XAVI X7721r+
The blue internet port of V2142 is connected to another port of the switch.
The pcs are connected to the rest of the ports of the switch.
This configuration works.
