Post subject: Calls dropping when the LAN Line Rings!!!!!! Please Help
All of a sudden when my house phone rings, my voip calls will drop. I have a linksys router and the voip modem is connected to my linksys router in port 2. My internet connection does not drop just my voip conversation any time my house phone lan line rings. The only thing that is next to the voip modem is my linksys router. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Please give us all the technical details listed in the sticky message at the top of the forum.
If I understand you correctly, you have Vonage VoIP and also a conventional land line. When the land line phone rings, you lose your connection on a VoIP call. Is that correct? If so, are you also using house wiring for the VoIP phone?

This is most likely an issue with either 1 of 2 things. 2 cordless phones interfering with each other, or 2 the customer is using DSL for internet and when the PSTN line w/DSL rings it is causing packet loss on the internet connection.
Now you WILL NOT notice this packetloss with web browsing but you will notice it when your VOIP conversation drops. This may be something you have to take up with your ISP.
