First off, I am impressed that a "phone company" would have a user forum and someone in the forum to answer customs questions. Wow. Sure beats waiting on a phone for 30 minutes only to reach someone that doesn't have a clue...
I want to set up an asterisk server and I need to connected it to the PSTN. For a variety of reasons, I want to use broadband connection, not POTS. Can Vonage provide such a connection ? Ie I don't need your telephone adapters. I need Vonage to provide DIDs in my local calling area (hopefully with my existing telephone numbers) and a SIP or H323 port for me to connect to. Is such a thing available ?
BTW: I am not the only one looking for such services. See www. voip-info.org or subscribe to the asterisk mailing list. There are a ton of us all looking for the same thing.
Thanks. |

I don't *think* this is possible/available. there are probably some others here with more knowledge on this subject and just an fyi, this isn't a Vonage site. from vonage-forum.com main page: Vonage Voip Forum is independent & is not an official Vonage® Holdings Corp site. |

THanks for the reply and clarification. I knew that a phone company having a forum was too good to be true.
I'm looking at a different phone company that does appear to provide asterisk termination. |
