Folks, I have other apps that user UDP ports in the area between 10000 and 2000 What is the work around for this? So far the only thing I have done is to set up port forwarding for all of the ports the selected ports in the above range, but I think this is causing some drop outs. There are other apps that use UDP ports above 10000, sure wish that Vonage would come up with a way not to use such a large block of ports. |

I've never found it necessary to open any ports when using only one UA behind a router. Vonages NAT traversal seems to handle the setup. |

My Voip box is behind my router, so I had to set the router up to handle the ports and aim them at the ATA. The problem is that I have other devices on my network that also use ports in the area of 10000 to 20000 and the only way to get both of them to work on the same network was to router the single addresses to the other device and route the rest to the ATA. But that seems to have caused some degradation in the phone functionality, the sound is not quite as good. |

This one I am familier with. Indeed I have it set up this way. ports 10000 to 10090 and 10092 to 20000 are routed to the ATA but 10091 is routed to the other device. That is the issue, not how to get them to the ATA. Vonage is not the only user of ports in that region, but if I try to route the ports to the other devices I do find degradation on my audio.
I would think that by now there might be a better work around. |
