Long time Vonage user - just bought a v-phone and having problems dialing in to some ACD/IVR systems requiring key tones for navigation.
When I connect and use the software keypad or the laptop keyboard - the DTMF key tones are not being recognized by the host. I'v tried different mic/headset combos as well as disabling the mic to make sure there is no double entry going on (tip from a previously unresolved post).
I have Vonage standard handset adapters that work fine when I use a corded or cordless phone attached, however when I try to dial the same system from the v-phone, the DTMF does not work.
Can't believe this isn't a huge issue and looking for some help. Examples of systems I have trouble with are ATT conference center and (who would guess...) Vonage voice mail.
Appreciate any help I can get! |

I have a question for you. I recently purchased the new Vonage Dect 6.0 phone (2 months ago approx.). It worked fine until a couple of days ago. Then, two days ago it started using pulse dialing vs. tone dialing which eliminates the possibility to access Vonage voicemail or conference lines. It was fine up to then, no adjustments were made to the system. (e.g. when you dial you get clicks vs. tones)
Are you experiencing the same issue? |

I might add that the vonage phones are manufactured by V-Tech. |

Diesel - Don't think this is the same issue. Although I'm no expert, I think it is an issue with Vonage's DTMF implementation. The tones work for some systems consistently, yet do not work on other systems consistently. |

You're correct, it wasn't the same issue. Mine was simple in nature, but it even took the higher level tech service at Vonage over two hours to figure it out. Quite simply the tone feature was turned off and the pulse feature was on. The switch for this was very obscure in the menus, but after several hours of digging, we finally found it.
