PostPosted: Fri Aug 01, 2008 11:53 am    Post subject: Phone Bill Payment Options & Charges..? Reply with quote Back to top

Hi everyone my name is Nicole, i've been with Vonage for a long time now 2 years +. I have some questions about my phone bill, and phone line.

Right now I'm currently overseas with my family, for vacations. Since i forgot to pay my bank credit card, i would like to know what happens when i don't pay my phone bill in time, will my service be suspended or canceled.

i know that when your bill goes to $70.00 plus it goes into a state called "GRACE" witch means you can only place local and long distance, it dosen't let you place international calls, or 411 calls.

My question is, since im going to be overseas with my family for 3 months, what will happen, will my phone line get suspended or disconected .?

does Vonage do like other phone companys, and charge you a late fee..? for instance when i used to have verizon, i could pay 2 months late, but they would just charge me a late fee. if they charge a late fee, what is the charge..?

I know that one time i did not pay my credit credit card on time and Vonage just keeps trying to charge it every 2 or 3 hours..

P.S

i cant call Vonage from here, because the hotels charges like $5 dollars a minute when you dial a toll free number. so if someone can tell me it would be nice..

thank you in advace any help will be helpfull Question

I'm not sure about the charges but there are a couple ways you could possibly contact them. Depending what country you are in, you might be able to use a V-access number to call Vonage. Also, if you are using a computer with a headset and mic, you could download and install Vonage Talk and then you can call Vonage and anyone else you like using that software on a computer.

Vtalk is a great program (while it lasts) when traveling, if I have internet in my hotel room I use it, otherwise I use my unlocked phone with a sim card, very cheap to call back to North America. You could also get a calling card to call back, probably still have to pay the hotel a fee for using their phone, but not as much as calling direct.

Yea its true even if i buy a calling card, the hotel still charges me to much, which is kind of stupid, but thats how some hotels have it setup. yea i just used Vtalk. it was great.. but is this not going to last a long time..? or what..? how long will this last..?

thanks

Well some people think that they might get rid of the Vonage Talk soon. Vonage just released a package they call Vonage Pro(you can go to the website and read more) and it includes some software that is very similar to Vonage Talk. Since Vonage is charging to upgrade your service to Pro, some think that they will do away with the free stuff. Sounds like a logical business move for them but I think a lot of people will be upset if they have to pay to use things that they were using for free.
