Please someone help me if you can,before I pull out my hair.
When I call someone or they call me,I can hear them but,they can't hear me.I have contacted customer service several times and was told to do the same things over and over again.All I seem to get done is burn up my minutes on my cell phone talking to them.
They told me it is on my side ie. my cable modem,it's not.Any suggestions on how to fix this problem? my speedtest.net show Download of 1247kbps and Upload of 426 kbps.

Oh and I have tested my internet speed(several times)and found that that's not the problem.

Need a bit more information:

Please post the results of the speed test in a response to this post (see http://www.vonage-forum.com/ftopic7191.html )

Do you have a router between your Vonage device and modem?

I would suspect that this is an issue with your ISP. Just b/c your uplaod and download speeds meet the requirements does not mean that it will be able to establish a good Voip phone conversation. There are many factors including potentially a router that is blocking your outgoing voice from your Vonage adapter.

1st step is to remove that router and connect your Vonage directly to your modem and if this improves your call quality (i.e. people can hear your voice), then we know that things need to be configured on your router differently.

Well,I would do that but,I am not using a router.This is how I have it set up,cable into modem then out to the Vonage phone adapter(#vdv21-vd).The last person we talked to at customer service said that it could possibly be the adapter it's self,so they are sending me out a different one try.

well, thank you for the clarification. then the only 2 possibilities are either you have a defective Vonage adapter or your ISP is still problematic on the upload side.

have you tried moving it to phone port 2?

then we'll know for sure once the new device comes to you. If it works, then we know it's the device that is defective. If it still causes call quality issues, then you will need to address it with your ISP.
