I live in Mexico.
I am using a 1mb upload and 1mb download.
It is a direct connection with my isp. Not a DSL, not a cable company.
I am configuring the device with a fixed Public IP.
I cant make it work.
Everytime I start the device a message about Error code 13 is present and eventually Error code 2.
I tried with different phones and phone cables.
Any Ideas ?

This is what the status of the device shows.
Hardware Version: 1111
Software Version: 2.7.2-0.1.1
Internet Status: Connected
Ethernet Status: Connected
Current Time: Wed Jul 23 23:13:00 2008
Phone 1:Line Wiring Error
Phone 2:Disabled
Configuration Server:Device negotiated with the configuration server successfully.
Parental Control:Disabled

The device name its on the title of the topic, It is the Vonage VDV21-VD.
I am not using a modem, I have a direct connection to Internet with a fixed public IP.
Router = Cisco
Phone ? I tried with different phones.

I know for sure The device is connecting to internet.
The problem is the ErrorCode 013.
Reading About this error, it is related to the wire I am using.
But, I tried with 2 different cables. With 2 pins and with 4 pins and the error is the same.
I am not sure, but maybe the port to connect the phone is damaged.

gblanco,

try getting on your Vonage account on the website and move the phone line to port 2. If this fixes the problem, then you should ask Vonage to send you a new device. Of course, only if you are still under warranty.

This is the message when I try to change it to the second port.

We're sorry, telephone number portability is currently unavailable for your number.

Do you know why or How Can I change it to the second port ?.

Did you go to Add-ons then move a number?

Then select your phone #

Hit continue; it should then allow you to move it to port 2.

I was using the wrong option.
I will try it later because the device is not connected to the internet in this moment and needs to be connected to make the change.

Here is a potential fix to the issue / problem of the Vonage VDVC21 phone adapter error code 13 or 14 - Line Voltage Error on Line 1 or 2.

Mine was intermittent upon reset, but when it worked, it worked fine forever until I manually reset / power cycled device.

BEWARE - IF AND ONLY IF YOU ARE SURE there really is NO STRAY Voltage and you believe the VDV21 is just way to sensitive picking up noise, etc.....

THEN THE FIX: call Vonage and tell them to turn off the voltage test.
Setting FOREIGN EMF TEST --> FALSE (from the true value)
You Need to do this for EACH LINE on the ADAPTER.
