I hope someone can help me with this one! I had Verizon landline & DSL canceled the LL and now just have a dry loop! ,I would like to be able to use all the phones in my house just like I allways have, Vonage says to do so I will need to unplug
the phone line from my NID outside and then just plug my vonage adapter into the wall and all the phone will work???
If I unplug the phone lines from the NID how will the DSL signal get to my computer and the Vonage adapter??? I've tried it it doesn't work??
Why are they saying it will??

Most houses have more than one pair of wires running through the house. Older homes generally have 2 pairs for two lines; newer homes often have more. The thing you need to do is to leave the pair that brings the DSL to your modem alone, and disconnect at least one other pair from the outside lines. Use that one for the Vonage service.

A sticky message at the top of the forum goes into a lot of detail about home wiring. For existing wiring, I'd suggest re-wiring the DSL so that it's on line 2. (It's almost certainly on line 1 now.) Then use an adapter at your DSL modem to allow it to connect to line 2. That gets your DSL up and running as line 2. Then make sure that line 1 is disconnected from the outside and use that for sending Vonage through the house.

In your case what you will need to do it´s a home wiring. If you go to the Vonage official site(www.vonage.com) and then on help you select installation. The first option is home wiring, make click in there and then select Do it yourself home wiring guide. That´s a guide from vonage that explain how to made the installation. If not you have another page which is michigantelephone.workbench.net that also explain this. What you can try to do it´s check if Vonage have the professional installation available in your area. In that case call 1-Vonage-help, if they have it´s going to be for free.
