My current ISP is Knology cable broadband
Linksys Modem BEFCMU10 v4 > Linksys Router > WRT54G > 2 desktops & 3 wireless laptops.
Currently 1 desktop & 1 wireless are on WOW (World of Warcraft) 24/7. Am I going to have issues if I try using Vonage phone service? I've read about latency after hooking up Vonage.
I was excited about trying Voip, but if I'm going to have internet issues, this will be a major setback. |

It depends on your ISP and what speed service you're receiving, and also on the quality of your router (I notice that you have 2). If you have plenty of bandwidth to handle your internet activities, and also to handle Vonage, and if your router is up to the job, and if you plug Vonage into the first router, and if you set QoS in the router to favor Vonage (to avoid choppy calls), then it should work. Of course, that's a lot of ifs. You need to check them all out. |

A good place to start is to run the Voip test to test the quality of your connection. As Steve stated, it can be done with success if your connection and networking equipment can handle the load. |

Thanks for the quick response.
Sounds like too many if's for my taste, I will keep Vonage in mind, once my WOW players vacate the premise.
Thanks, |

I didn't mean to be too negative. As Darrell said, running the forum test can give you a good idea. If you have the bandwidth, then that first router is the key. |
