PostPosted: Sun Jul 06, 2008 4:15 am    Post subject: Cordless Phone Suggestion? (research has been done) Reply with quote Back to top

Greetings in advance!

I have been doing some research on possible cordless phones to utilize with my Vonage service and am coming up a little short. I was wondering what you guys and gals thought and are currently using?

Importantly (at least to me) I would like to see on the handset if there is a VM message on the Vonage service. I have seen on the web (which no one seems to have in stock) that the Vonage DTEC 6.0 Broadband Telephone System is available. Does this system offer a visual indication on the handset if there is a VM in Queue?

If not or even if so, are there other alternatives that would offer such a service? If so, would you please elaborate on them?

I have contacted Vonage and found a quite of language barrier me being in the US and they being wherever they are. Just looking for some realistict feedback regarding the issue at hand.

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

I have the Vonage DECT 6.

It has the voice mail indicater light.

Very good system !

Check Best Buy, Circuit City, Comp USA.

**NOTE **....on Best Buy's website....the picture shows the system comes with the V-Portal....BUT the discription reads the system comes with the D-Link.....( and my system came with the D-Link )

It comes with an D-Link adapter ( NO router functions )....but keep in mind you don't have to use it.

I do know the system also works very well with the motorola v1005 adapter.

One " PROBLEM " if your using the V-Portal !

I do know if your using the new V-Portal adapter....The voice mail indicater light " will not " work when you have a voice mail.

But....the V-Portal's LCD screen will read that you have a voice mail.

Also....no matter which adapter you use....you will always have that stutter dial tone when you have a voice mail.

I use the panasonic cordless kx-tg2312. never had a single problem has vm indicator, also has programmable vm access w/ a single button; also has phone book so when people i know call, their nickname comes up and not the callerid data.

last thing, it came with NimH batteries. very important. a lot of cordless systems still come with Ni-Cd batteries which stink.

What do you guys think of the KX-TG9334T? What I am really interested in is the ability to relay that the Vonage system has a call stored (VM basically.) If this phone can register that Vonage has a VM stored, this is a done deal!

I have the GE Digital Cordless 5.8 ghz, model 28021ee3-a, a 3 phone cordless system that displays voice mail in several way. The red light on the main base blinks and all of the phones display show "message waiting."

UPDATE

As of the latest V-Portal firmware.

The voicemail light now works when using the Vonage DECT 6 Whole House System.

Thanks again for the replies. I ended up going with the Panasonic KX-TG9344T DECT 6.0. Vonage VM comes through nicely and the light blinks when I have a message.

I like it so far, esp the call block feature.
