I have been having trouble with caled I make using Vonage. I will be in the middle of a call and I will lose the call. When I lose the call I get several beeps and a fast busy signal. I can hang up and dial again with no problem but after a couple of minutes the same thing will happen again.
Any thoughts? |

please post the technical details on the very first post at the top. Also run the voip speed tests a few times and post the advanced details.
Most of these issues such as dropped calls are mostly ISP related. |

Attached are pretty typical results. The Pap2 is connected to a Trendnet router. The router is attached to an Hawking HBB1 qOS device then to a motorola modem.
I monitor my connection speed about 24x per day and haven't noticed any specific problems.
Appreciate the help

How old is your pap2? Looks like it could be going bad. Your test results don't really point out a problem. |

The Pap2 is about 3 years old. Is there any way to test it? |

If you have a cooperative friend, preferably with a different ISP, you can try it on another system. |

to further troubleshoot, are these calls to landlines in the US? landlines overseas? mobile phone calls in US? or overseas? Mobile calls are notorious for losing connection especially overseas. |

I wonder if your internet connection is dropping out.
Go to "run" under start and type cmd, which will bring up the DOS window.
type: ping yahoo.com -n 100
which will send 100 pings to yahoo, which should reply from Yahoo's IP adress. If some are dropped then there is a problem with your internal network or your ISP's internet connection. |
