the way users were finding out they had a problem was by downloading the shareware version of www.pingplotter.com and letting it run for a while. just use yahoo.com or whatever is in there. if you're showing a lot of packet loss over a day or so, it probably is the issue and you would be well served with a new cable modem. |

Anyone else have feedback on this?? My adapter is coming soon and I have Qwest DSL 1.5M down 1.0M up. I have no problems playing or hosting 16 players on XBOX live. Do you think this will change for me!? |

Has anyone considered finding out what ports halo 2 uses for online gaming? Perhaps Vonage and Halo are sharing a port, which would cause the connection drop out. It just seems wierd that most people are only having problems with that specific game. |

My son can go all day without losing his connection, and then all of a sudden he gets blown off the 'net in the middle of Halo 2. He can reconnect, but then he gets dropped at random times for the rest of the evening. We tried replacing the ethernet cable, and put the Xbox in the router's DMZ, but no joy. Nothing suspicious in the router's security log either. I've noticed that the newest Vonage boxes are from Linksys. Mine's a Motorola...could that be the problem? |
