Post subject: I need some help with the ssid!

The RTP300 isn't a wireless router.

The ssid (service set identifier) is broadcast by a wireless router, not your computers. As butterman pointed out, the RPT300 is not a wireless router so it cannot broadcast an ssid.

I think you got confused with the word router. there are two types: router and wireless router. The wireless router usually has the acronymn wrt.
So in your case, rtp = router + phone adapter
If you want a wireless router, you need to look for something like wrt54g = wrt = wireless router.
