I have connected the VT1005V as a device behind my Trendnet router. I'd like to be able to disable DHCP in the Trendnet router because that is supposed to be more secure. But if I do that I need to assign Static IP addresses to each connected device. I know how to assign static addresses to PC's. How can I do this to the Vonage adapter?
I was hoping I could do this in the adapter configuration screens. The IP assigned to the adapter by the router is 10.10.10.200 right now. I enter this in the address bar of my browser and also tried 10.10.10.200/startup.html
Neither takes me to the configuration pages for the adapter
So 2 questions a) Can I give a static IP address to the adapter at all? b) Why can't I get to the adapter configuration pages?
Thanks |

Thanks. Looks like I will have to temporarily take the router out of the equation- I wanted to try and avoid it. So does this mean one can't configure the Vonage adapter if it is behind the router? |

You may have to use remote administration in order to access it if you aren't connected to it directly.
I'm not sure with that device, but I know for my RT31P2 that is what I need to do which is setup behind a standard router.
I took a quick look at the user guide, but I don't see anything that talks about setting up remote administration so maybe its not possible for this unit. I'm not sure though so maybe someone else can comment. |

This link indicates that the answer is, desafortunadamente, no.
Oh, well! |

I guess being one of the first adapters, it did not come with that function. Actually, it was never intended to be a router in the first place with one 1 ethernet port correct? |

Plug your PC in to the Moto box. Modem -> Router -> Moto ATA -> PC you can then access the interface from the connected PC. |
