Last year the 4 ethernet ports on my Linksys WRTP54G stopped working. Connecting a cable to the ports results in NO CONNECTIVTY.
-WRTP54G connected directly to cable modem.
-Wireless side of device works.
-Phone works.
-Link light on computer NIC lights up.
-Local Area Connection indicates "cable unplugged" (WinXP)
-Ethernet lights on WRTP54G do NOT light up.
-Have Vonage's lattest firmware on WRTP54G
-Restored factory defaults-- failed
-reset button on back of device for 30 secs. failed
-replaced cables- failed.
-attempted to connect to all 4 ethernet ports. --failed |

If you are sure that your computer's ethernet connection is working, then I think I'd conclude that the WRTP54G has failed. See if the computer will connect directly to the modem. |

DIngus,
had the same problem. Also, saw another guy named BigDaddy on the Linksys community forum who had the same problem. He thinks the ports are fried and so do i. Although, to double-check the connection I would make sure your network connections settings are set to find your IP address automatically (i have XP also). Honestly, I didn't check this until after I bought the Vonage D-Link router (stupid me), however my Xbox ethernet cable connection wasn't working either so I presume the ports were in fact, fried.
Hope this helps. |

CLARIFICATION: The Vonage D-Link Router is my NEW router. Old one is the Linkys WRTP54G, Top of the line piece of crapola that lasted 2 years. Bummer. |
