I have Vonage service and purcahse my own Wireless G Linksys router. Product # WRTP54G. Linksys does not make a repeater or high gain antanna that works with this router. Does anyone know of a product that would work with this router?
Note that I am not looking for an access point that has to be wired. I want a true wireless repeater or more powerful antanna.
Thanks John |

I purchased the linksys range repeater and wokred for 4 hrs trying to get it to work. Finally Linksys support said it will not repeat the signal of the Vonage router. I have also purchaed D-Links g710 repeater, and it did work for 1 week. It stopped and now I cannot even access the dlink's control panel by ip address, nor does it show up in an ip address scan. Next I am trying a 7dbi omni-directional antannea. We'll see. If that doesn't work I'll buy the 15dbi directional. |

Be careful of the connectors that these antennas have and that they are compatible with the antenna connectors on your router. Not all antenna connectors are compatible with all routers and adapters will rob you of gain. |

You Need a Linksys WAP54G (Access Point) after you get it, you need to copy Your Linksys WRT54G'S Wireless MAC Address. To do this, go o the WAP54G'S Setup Page http://192.168.1.245 Leave username blank, and type "admin" for password. Go to "AP Mode" and look for the "Wireless Repeater" Section ( (3rd one down)see this pic http://www.thrcomputerllc.com/images/linksys2.png Type in The WRT54G'S Wireless MAC ID here. Click Save, and after about a few seconds, the WAP54G will reboot, and you should then be able to access the Internet from the WAP54G. |
