And this whole saga is why people should not buy Vonage devices on eBay unless they are prepared to take the chance of it not working.
Marc - This is why I made a simple post that it generally doesn't work, not that it doesn't ever work, that it generally doesn't work.
I totally agree that in some cases you can get this to work, but most people selling these on eBay are not going to go through the trouble of clearing the device for you. Yours is one of the few positive stories I have heard of being able to re-register a device bought on eBay. I'm glad it worked for you, but from my experience this is the exception.
I totally agree with you....knowing what I know now ( learning by getting myself into a simular situation ) I would have NEVER bought a used device.
I was lucky I bought from an honest seller....and the seller worked with Vonage and myself to get things right.
The problem is that Vonage sells the device to the customer. That's why you have to replace it if it fails after the warranty period. Since the customer owns it, Vonage has no legal right to prevent him from re-selling it.
