Post subject: Wifi and Vonage= an bad relationship
hello.
i have a v-portal and over the phone and forums i have tried and tried to get a simple solution to get my v-portal to work in a wireless hotel room where lan ports are not available.
the closest i came to was a link i received from a tech support man from
Vonage
;
http://windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/wxpbrdge.html
didn't work -- good chance i did something wrong but not sure...
other advice from tech support was to buy a usb v-stick and so i did for $50. quality bites and the only headset you can use due to the adapter that plugs into the usb
Vonage
stick -- is one they provide and the quality bites...
frustrated here.
has anyone ever successfully bridged?
anyway i can improve the dreadful sound from the usb
Vonage
stick.
thank you!

A simple solution and it is free is
Vonage
Talk.
You need a computer to use it, works great on a wi-fi or wired network. I have used it in North America, Africa and Europe.
You can call and receive calls with this application.
Here is the link:
http://alpha.vonage.com/
There are some other applications on that site also. Just keep in mind that these products are in alpha stage and CS on the phone won't help, but there is a dedicated forum for it which is also part of the link.
