I have a Vonage device VT2142 and I am using a DSL modem.
Every thing was working fine untill my modem packed up. I replaced it with a new modem and internet connectivity is fine, however I am not able to connect my Vonage device.

I set my computer IP address to 192.168.15.2, gateway 192.168.1.1 but i am not able to connect to http:\\192.168.15.1 .( the apge cannot be displayes)

I get a voice message from the phone "This Vonage device is not setup for use.It does not have telephone number assigned to it".

Have you reset the Vonage adapter? (unplug all devices, plug in modem, allow lights to stablize, then plug in Vonage adapter, then start computer)
How is your setup?
Mine is modem->vonage 2142->wireless router->cpu
If the computer is not hooked through the Vonage device, I don't believe it will see it.

Yeah I reset the modem and also by pressing the reset buttom in the rear (next to power supply inlet).

my setup is DSL Modem >> Vonage vt2142 >> Desk Top
and also DSL Modem >> Wireless >> Laptop

No luck as of Now.

How are 2 things hooked to the modem?
DSL Modem->Vonage
and
DSL Modem->Wireless Router

Have you tried hooking the Vonage device directly to the wireless router?

Did you ever find the cause of the problem and how did you resolve it?

Yeah the problem was resolved. I contacted the toll free number and they gave me a solution.

I had accidentally changed my IP address to 192.168.1.1 while configuring the modem.

I realized I had changed when i used the command ipconfig/all at dos prompt.

The i was able to connect to the Vonage device using new ip address

and thus resolded all problems
