Tell us more about your network. You mention a Linksys, for example. What model is it, and how are things hooked up? How are the computers connected? Also, tell us more about your ISP. Is Heronet DSL, cable, or what?
A red light on the VT2442 is a bad sign, but let's explore other things before thinking the worst. Has the setup ever worked? |

The setup has worked before. I had to disconnect the Vonage box from the power to move it. The linksys is a cable/ DSL router model # BEFSR1. My internet is DSL. I have the ethernet cord going from the computer to the linksys box. The blue Vonage wire is going into the linksys box. The internet modem is connected to the linksys box. All the light on my internet modem and linksys box are green. The only light on my Vonage box that is green is the internet. |

Is your computer set up to get its IP dynamically (DHCP)? If you plug your computer into the LAN side of the Vonage box instead of the Linksys, can you also access the internet?
Can you access the setup page on the Vonage box? If you can, make sure that the subnet addressing range for the LAN side of the Vonage box is different from the one being used by the Linksys. For example, if the Linksys is using 192.168.15.xxx for its LAN side addressing, change the Vonage box to use something like 192.168.16.xxx.
If you unplug the Vonage box from the Linksys and re-boot, do you get a red power light? |
