Wouldn't be my PC that is causing it to be slow since I have another PC and tried it on there. Was slow like this one. |

Do you have anything running in the background like P2P file sharing? Do you have up-to-date anti spyware and anti virus protection on your PC? If the slow browsing persists, you should speak with Comcast about this issue. |

No, nothing like that is running. But yeah my anti virus is up to date. At first I thought it was my anti virus that was slowing it down since I heard McAfee can slow it down. But my other PC doesn't have McAfee and it's still slow like this one. |

Contact Comcast...hopefully they will be able to assist you with the slow web browsing. I'm all out of suggestions. |

Okay, would have to call tomorrow though. Thanks for trying though. Atleast I know how to use it directly from the modem now. |

No problem, glad to help. When you get your issue resolved, let us know what was causing the problem. It may help someone else in the future with the same problem. |

Well today someone came to fix it but he didn't really say much about why it was slow. I think it was about a cable.. So after he left I thought it would be back to normal but everything is the same.. My upload speed is still higher than my download speed too. |

Do any of your neighbors have Comcast as their isp? You may want to ask them if they are experiencing the same issues you are. If that's the case, there may be some type of outside line issue. Either way, you should call Comcast and tell them you're still experiencing the same problem. When the Comcast tech comes back, have them try a different cable modem...The modem itself could also be the problem. Be sure to test your web browsing and line speeds before the tech leaves. |
