We're on a T1 and should have excellent clarity on Vonage. When downloading a larger file however, we get clicks and broken audio on our phone lines.
We recently replaced a switch after our existing one went south, and that seemed to help for a while, but the problem is back now.
Any ideas? |

I'm very surprised that you are having quality issues with a T1.
Just for clarification, are you having a T1 coming into your house?
If so, are there any other "services" being offered by you like a website etc?
I'm thinking about a possible bottleneck in your setup that is causing disruption for your phone service.
Another solution might be to give priority to your vonage device over other devices so that when you are on a phone call, your vonage will get first dibs.
it might help if you give us some network info and also some more info about your T1. |

No websites, two or three Macs, 2 Vonage lines plus fax line, 16 port switch with 8 filled and 6 active, DHCP from router.
We have a T1 because DSL or Cable is not available in this area (we had to install a 70 foot antenna for DishTV) and a T1 is our only option. We professionally support various open source software projects. |

have you run the voip tests? post the detailed results here; preferrably when you downloaded a very large file; run the test then to see what kind of issues you are facing. |

Pretty good idea!
The VOIP speed test (while downloading a 150 MG file) show a quality of service of 38%, "which shows that your connections is unable to produce a constant stream of data".
Is this a T1 problem, a switch problem or a network problem (or fix)? |

have you ever tweaked the priority sequence for you switch? In other words, does your switch have QoS features? If it does, then you need to enable it and give your vonage phone adapters the priority. Otherwise, your download will get all the bandwidth. |

It is for your download application use too much bandwidth.
it is better to use some router which has bandwidth limit function , it will keep the bandwidth for your vonage. or you could active Qos to make your vonage call has a higher PRI. this need your router and your ATA support.
