I know Vonage has improved greatly in this matter of calling toll free numbers within Canada, but today I couldn't.
I was trying to call my internet provider using a toll free number. Sometimes here in Canada we have issues with toll free numbers because they are Canada only numbers and Vonage is out of the U.S. Today I was getting 2 different errors, first one was: All circuits are busy, and the 2nd one was: This call can't be dialed from your dialing area. Sometimes the number just kept on ringing. I have used the number in the past so not sure what was causing me the problem. I opened Contact Book and entered the name and number, dialed *44 and said the name and sure enough the number dialed and went through.
Not sure what Vonage contact book is? Visit the site: http://alpha.vonage.com
There you can see all the products in alpha stage, which means no tech support on the phone, but you can get it from the site where you got the contact book. |

Try enabling "International Calling" in the features section of the Vonage online control panel.
I had the same problem, which seemed to be corrected by that configuration change.

Already have international calling enabled because I travel to Europe on a bi-monthly basis.
PS: Welcome to the site. |
