I'm a new Vonage customer, and so far, am very happy with the service.
One issue that is causing me a bit of trouble is with phone menu systems ... those automated systems that tell you to press 1 for this or 2 for that. Most of the time, pressing the key that I want does nothing, and the message continues saying whatever it was saying. If I wait until the end of the message, I can press the key I want, and most of the time, it works.
Does anyone know how to get around this issue? Listening to these pre-recorded messages is getting old very fast.
Thanks for your help! |

Have you checked to make sure that other people can hear your outgoing voice okay? If that's not working well, then the tones won't make it out either. |

I've asked just about everyone that I talked to about the quality of the sound. Most people report that there is no problem ... they cannot tell that I'm not on a POTS line. |

there have been a lot of posts about this, incuding within the last week or so. search for dtmf or touch tones and you'll find your answer. if you can't find it for some reason, repost and I'll find it for you tomorrow (on a cell phone right now). |

My brain must still be on vacation mode. I tried to search for dtmf and touch tones and could not find anything applicable. Any help that you can provide in pointing me to the correct posts would be most appreciated!
Thanks! |

Hi smgcircle:
I think you used the search located out on the index page, which only searches the news. If you use the search found directly above, it will search the forums and give you 14 results.
This site is under going a major rework/upgrade and in a few days the two searches will produce combined results |

Thanks to everyone for your feedback!
I've followed these links, and will call Vonage if the problem persists.
Interestingly, every menu system that I have attempted to use today has worked without any problem. Maybe something has changed, or maybe I'm just luck today. We'll see.
Thanks again! |
