As the competive nature of the broadband cable TV market continues, I decided to call TW to find out if I could reduce my bill. I have digital cable, HD tier and Sports Tier along with High Speed internet.

TW explained I could move to 15mps internet, keep everything else the same and save 20% per month (of course a 2 year agreement).

The downside was that my old BEFSR41 router could not handle the higher speed internet, capping it to about 6mps download (really old BEFSR41 V1 or V2's have only a 10Mbps/half-duplex WAN port and can't handle more than 5 or 6Mbps...)
I plan on replacing it with a switch, to eliminate the bottleneck and just use the Vonage Motorola VT2142 as my main router. My wireless is a stand alone access point, so no issues there. Hoping simpler is better.

A speed test directly connecting to the VT2142 resulted in over 20MPS speeds.
