I'm having a very strange intermittent problem. When this occurs, I get an incoming phone call which is picked up by voicemail. Even though voicemail picks up, my home phone (Uniden DCT646) keeps ringing - for hours, until I get home to pick up the phone. My setup is v-portal to fax machine (turned off) to Uniden base.
In one case the incoming call was an unknown international number. But in the other three cases, I called my home phone, from my office, to check my voicemail.
Any ideas? Vonage advanced support changed a couple of settings (delay to listen for hangup, and voltage), but it didn't solve the problem. |

I'd start troubleshooting by temporarily replacing the phone and seeing if it happens with the new phone. |

Were you able to reproduce this (I know it is intermittent)? Is it only when a PSTN call comes in or does the same happen from a Vonage caller as well? Which version of firmware are you running on the V-Portal?
As Steve mentioned, temporarily replacing the phone is a good start. |

Check your simulring and call forwarding settings. Get rid of all entries and see if this helps. |

The problem still occurs and Vonage "advanced support" does not have a clue as to why. The problem isn't with my Uniden phone, as the V-Portal shows an incoming call when the endless ringing happens. Vonage keeps on clinging to the "debug tracing" troubleshooting route, but this goes nowhere, since the problem is so intermittent. (Their tracing can only be activated for 24 hours apparently.) As I type this, the problem is occurring and Vonage still can't figure out what the root cause is. I am awaiting a call back from a support supervisor. After numerous calls into support, every "solution" is merely a guess, and the guess turns out to be incorrect. Can someone recommend a better channel to escalate my issue? |

Try the executive response team. The last I heard, their number was 888 580 4020. |
