1. Cocoa, Floriday
2. Brighthouse Networks
3. 10 down / 2 up
4. Modem make and model: Terayon, TJ715
5. Motorola VT2142
6. Modem - Router - Vonage (QOS is setup to prioritize Vonage)
7. Issue: If I am on a phone call and answer another call with call waiting, if I hang up with the second call, the first call is OK for about 30 seconds. As soon as the second line disconnects, I lose the first call. The dial tone is also gone for about 2 minutes.
Support apparently pushed an update to my Vonage box, but it made no difference.

That's a tough one; I've never heard of a similar problem. I'm betting only tech support will be able to help with this.
In the meanwhile, do you also lose internet service when this happens? |

try setting your bandwidth saver to the lowest setting to see if that helps. |

Did you ever figure out how to fix this issue. I am having the same issue and can't take it any more I use my phone for work and I am loosing important calls. I hate to switch but can't afford not to if it keeps dropping my calls. |

I haven't fixed it, though I did find a way to minimize its effect. When you want to go back to the original call, just hang up the phone completely. Your phone will start to ring. Let it ring 3 times... you'll notice the third ring is a little shorter. Once you hear that third ring, pick up the phone and you'll be good to go.
Just warn the original caller that they are going to hear the phone ringing before you come back. |

My problem is I want to talk to the second caller so I say good bye to the first caller and click over then 60-180 sec later my call completely drops and I can't get a dial tone for about 80 seconds. |
