Post subject: V-Portal and Voicemail Light
Interesting....Vonage going " BACK-WARDS "
I have the " Vonage DECT 6.0 Whole House solution " cordless phone system.
One of it's features....is that it has a light on each of the phones and also on the base station....that blinks when you have a voicemail.
From the start with Vonage....I have been using the Motorola VT1005RB adapter....And all was working very well.
The other day I " upgraded " ( I thought ) to the Vonage VDV21 V-Portal.
Now the voicemail light " doesn't work " when you receive a voicemail.
I did some searching on the web and found nothing on the subject....So I called Vonage tech support.
I was transferred to a level 2 tech....She did some research and found out the Motorola VT1005RB has some technology built into it.... that sends a signal to activate the voicemail light(s).
The Vonage VDV21 V-Portal " doesn't "....( so is the Vonage VDV21 V-Portal really an upgrade )....You would think the Vonage wouldn't have overlooked something that makes a feature on one of " their "products work.
