Post subject: Vonage and Directv DVR with Tivo
Hi,
I am getting my
Vonage
kit tomorrow and the day after that the directv installers will be here to install the new dish and dvr with tv and all.
I would like to know if people are facing problems in recent months with directv dvr's ability to make the phone call through the
Vonage
phone.
Also since i dont have any telephone jacks near the tv, I would like to know if i should get wireless phone jacks and use them or should I do a wireless networking and use that do the daily calls.
Any insight for directv dvr with tivo and
Vonage
combo will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time and effort.
Have a great day.

There is a very good chance that the DVR won't be able to complete the call. You can try either a long cord or a wireless jack. I expect that in the next couple of moths this will be resolved, until then you only need to make the initial set up call. So, if you have to, after the installer leaves you can take it to a neighbors or relative's house and finish the call. Then bring it back home and enjoy it.
