. so far i do have a dial tone on my fone and i do have internet on my hardwired pc. maybe i'll take this to the linksys forum. thanks alot.
just out of curiosity, you wouldn't happen to know why im getting an ip address of 192.168.1.64 on my hardwired pc when on my linksys setup page i have it set up for the ip's to start at 192.168.1.100 ???
1 more thing..shouldn't there be something connected to my router in the "internet" jack?
FYI - Linksys WRT54G version 6 models are notorious for having problems with the wireless. I had one of these and had two clients with them. My signal dropped all the time, I had laptops that would not connect to the signal, and my wife's machine would never connect above 1Mbps. Same thing with client sites. I swapped out my router at home with a version 8 WRT54G and all the issues went away. I then moved to a version 2 WRT54G with the DD-WRT firmware and have had nothing but good things since. I have gone and replaced all version 6 WRT54G's because they are pieces of junk. Every other version of the WRT54G works fine but the version 6.
