I would like to be able to be able to either call vonage number, hang up, have vonage or my computer call me back and let me dial the number i wish to call.

OR

I could make a pasword protected website where i could do a couple things,

1. I could have a phone directory where i could click on the person i need to call, my computer or vonage would call me when i answer, vonage or my computer would conference in the number i chose.

Or

2. Goto the protected site click call back, once i was called back there would be a way to dial another number

Bottom line is, I am trying to keep my cell phone bills down. I have free incomming calls and free calls to my choice of a few numbers. So if i could call my vonage line and then put in a code to tell it to conference me to a number that would work too.

There has to be a way to do this whether built into vonage or some calll back software....
any ideas?

The group calling feature from the vonage contact book may help you some. You can also use a non vonage number for the call as well(ie your cell). Although, you would have to be at a computer to make it work. But your option 1 basically states that you would need to be at a computer to click on a name. So that's where I'm a little lost. Apparently you are trying to do this while you are on the road with only your cellphone? If you are using a computer to do this though, it has to be connected to the internet. In that case, you could use the vonage talk software and make calls from your laptop.

Well if you have the ability to use the contact book website from your phone, you should be able to do most of what you want. I've never tried it but it should be possible to use the contact book to initiate calls and answer them using your cellphone by entering your cellphone into your profile in the contact book. If you click on a number in your contact book, it asks you what number you want to call from so you could choose your cellphone. Now I assume, that vonage then calls your cellphone and your vonage minutes will be used for that(not important if you have unlimited). But your cellphone company would see it as an incoming call. Then you would be connected to your party. Sounds good in theory, even though it's a little late in the evening now!! The conact book is still in beta though, so I know that there are issues and all the features don't yet work like they should.

The Click-To-Call and Group Calling feature of ContactBook that tglea spoke of are both fully functional and working perfectly for me. With the Group Calling feature, you can be connected simultaneously with 5 other callee's.

I do this all the time. I have a POTS line I use for business, and had long distance removed and use contact book to place LD calls from it.

The beauty is it does NOT tie up my home phone Very Happy

Google's Grand Central does the same thing, but at times the call quality is not as good.

There is a small bug in the contact book, that is, the number you wish to use to talk on rings, but when you answer it, you DO NOT hear the other phone you are calling ring, just the person who you call when they answer. It is a known issue and supposedly will be worked on, but Contact Book is in Beta, so does not get the attention it needs Confused

.

If I select my Vonage number to call from, I can hear when the Click-To-Call number starts to ring. If I use my cell number to initiate the call, I do NOT hear when the Click-To-Call number starts to ring...I only hear when the called party answers the call.

Yes, that's the correct one. You should receive an e-mail within a couple of days allowing you access to "ContactBook."
