v portal not working with fax machine

nw setup-road runner isp-vdv portal
1 port is active
when i replace phone with fax machine ,i get error 007
but the phone instrument works on the same port

I am having a problem recieving faxes also with the V portal. My error is 232. It says it is a communication error. This problem started Friday. I have had my fax connected to Vonage for about a month & recieved several faxes without any problems until Friday.

I have radio wave internet going through a D-Link DIR-655 router before going to the V Portal.

The fax machine's phone cable may be bad. Try replacing the fax machine's phone cable with your telephones phone cable.
