Hello.
I will continue to use Vonage and my $24.99 plan but for my family--
what do you think is a better service and better price than $39.99 (the price quoted to them) in Canada for a quality VoIP or do all have their little problems?
Thank you and let's make this forum stronger with ideas and help to other Vonage users have it be good or bad. |

Yes this is a help forum. Most everyone here is committed to helping our peers have positive Vonage experiences.
Perhaps you should re-read the forum rules |

I would hope that my family could start Vonage but I ask this as I really do think the $24.99 fee like the US is fair and the $39.99 fee is not fair.
Just keeping it honest! |

Turning this into a comparison discussion is not what the owner of this site has in mind. So asking for information about other services is not keeping it honest. (That's all I'll say for that)
Now in terms of the pricing of the Canadian arm of the services, there has been discussion at length in this very forum. Do I wish the price were lower? Of course. Obviously, with the currencies basically even with each other, it would have the outward appearance that Canadian users are overpaying for their services. But it really is simply that we are just paying more for services. What we do not know is whether the hidden costs are equal or not. Obviously, they are subject to the law of supply and demand and are trying to optimize their business model. But what we can assume is that Vonage as a business wants to make money. (maybe )
Now would I complain if they dropped the Canadian fee. Heck no. But all I can do is vote with my dollar and apparently even with the price discrepencies, I have chosen to stay put. Unfortunately, that plays into their hand.
So in a general response to your first post, if I found a cheaper competitor that I felt would meet my needs with quality service, I would definitely consider it.
However, the website owner does not intend this forum to be a VOIP comparison site. So lets respect that please |

I am paying $24.99 CDN for the unlimited package, all you have to do is ask. |
