when I'm calling using Vonage, I can heary my own voice.... it's not very loud, but defnitely there.... is this normal? (my own voice is heard at simultaneously..... not an echo)
the sound of the caller and myself are crystal clear, but it's annoying when I hear my own voice when I talk... In fact, I can even hear my own breathing....
I don't hear it when I'm using a regular landline...
Thanks! |

You should not hear your own voice. |

Did you try a different phone? Are you using your house wiring or plugged directly into the adapter? |

Hearing your own voice in the earpiece while you talk is called "sidetone." It's normal on POTS lines (and the lack of sidetone is why people talk so loud on cell phones). I would be surprised to learn that it's absent on Vonage. |

Agreed. I've always got it on my Vonage line, but isn't it more a function of the telephone instrument itself than the carrier? I would surmise that it's unusually loud on Kiersten's line, but I would think that that is a function of the phone as well. |
