You can always set up your own router that sits between your cable modem and devices (Vonage, router, whatever else you got) that measures your total bandwidth. Any cheap old PC (even a Pentium 486!) running Linux and a copy of MRTG is more than enough.
If you just want general idea of what you're consuming, and you're running Windows, check out LiveNetStat Live from AnalogX, it's not 100% accurate but it is pretty decent. It's not going to be able to track your Vonage usage (unless you're using the softphone) but as previously noted, Vonage isn't going to chew through your bandwidth. |

The bandwidth usage of 90kbps is worst case. I guess if bandwidth is going to get charged, one needs to consider silence supression, higher packetization period, low bit rate codec and that could cut the consumption in half on average without any perceptible effect on quality in majority of cases. IMO, conserving bandwidth and avoiding unecessary wastage is a requirement as per RFC1087. |

Latest update from the cable company:
They scrapped the idea of pricing by bandwidth but they will charge extra if you go over 100 GB a month. My useage appears to be in the 5-8 GB area. |
