Hi, I'm looking into getting an 800# with Vonage. I would like to be able to forward the 800# independantly of my Vonage number.
Is this possible?
In other words, I would like to be able to forward the 800# to my Vonage phone when I am at the house... but when I am away from the house, I'd like to have the 800# forward to my cell, but continue to have my Vonage number ring to the house.
Alternately (at the very least), if this is not possible, is it possible to get the 800# to do a distinctive ring from the regular Vonage number? |

I think it would forward to your main number automatically since I believe it acts as a virtual number and not a number in itself. Then just set it to forward to your cell phone after 15 seconds or so or have it simult. ring. |

I sit to be corrected. But I think you have forward all your numbers, and not just one.
In short, you forward the account and not the telephone number.
Thanks |

I agree with housser.. Presently, I have my own 800# (independent of Vonage, and the subject of another posting) routed into my Vonage, which rings both my home Vonage adapter and cellphone simultaneously. I am not aware of any distinctive ringing capabilities with (or intended) for Vonage. FYI, the 800# I refer to is not yet a Vonage, due to their inability to accept my current number, of which I've had for a decade.
