A feature that would be great to add to your service. Would be when a fax comes in that it is sent to our e-mails as a pdf file. There are internet fax sites that do this and I think it would be a great addition to the Vonage package. I would not mind paying for a seperate fax line if this was a option on it as well.

Let me second this suggestion. It would be GREAT to have Vonage recognize an incoming fax and email it as a PDF. That would make my life a whole lot easier. |

While you're waiting you can use OneSuite to receive faxes for $1 per month: http://www.onesuite.com/products_MessageOne.asp
I also use OneSuite to provide cheap international dialing with my cell phone.
Just note that with OneSuite you pre-pay (minimum of $10) which is good for six months. If all you use it for is to receive faxes it will cost you $1.67 per month.
Still pretty cheap for a dedicated fax to e-mail with a dedicated phone number. They are working on sending faxes via e-mail but don't have it set up yet.
I've had an account with them for years and highly recommend them. |

Check out SmartFax.com. You can try their service first. They give out a 30 day free trial account. I have an account with them and I can send faxes using my email account.

I also use Onesuite fax for years and gets charge $1 a month, not sure why you get charge for $1.67. BTW, I think next month you can start sending faxes from your Onesuite fax account. |

I was quoting $1.67 per month because you have to pre-pay with a $10 minimum that expires in six months. You can also use it for international long distnace for cell phone to make cheap international calls and spread the use of your $10 pre-pay.
More importunately they now have inbound and outboaund fax support via e-mail for $2.95 per month. You can even select local numbers in some areas. The service is unlimited. Here is the solution to everyone's fax requirements. |

The problem with onesuite or efax or any of the other online faxing services is that you have to go through the hassle of scanning the document before you can fax it. I would be willing to pay for the Vonage line if I could send outbound faxes from my fax machine with it, but have inbound faxes emailed to me as a pdf. I don't want inbound faxes going to my fax machine because: 1) I don't want to print most of them. I'd rather have the information on my PC where I can view it whenever I want and 2) I want to be able to receive the fax wherever I have email.
Right now I use an online faxing service (maxemail) that costs me $24/yr. I'd gladly pay the $9.99/mo Vonage wants if I could still receive my faxes as email pdf attachments. |

I agree when using efax, Onesuite or maxemail, you need to scan your document to fax it BUT take note that most documents now (pictures, resumes, files) are already in digital form. To be honest I got more pictures in my PC than all pictures (hard copy) I had for my entire life. Same thing with other files/documents. I only had to scan twice since I started using Onesuite Fax Plus 2 months ago compared with the almost hundred pages I've sent that's already on my PC. |

Yes, most documents are already in digital form, but most of those get sent as email attachments. Usually when I need to fax something it's something I had to fill out or sign. It would be nice after signing a document to be able to drop it in my fax machine, punch in a number, and then click send. I'd pay the extra $9.99/mo for that convenience if I could receive the faxes as pdf files. As a matter of fact, I sometimes use this as a more convenient scanning method. Rather than scanning a document and saving it as a pdf, it is easier to fax it to myself and receive it as a pdf attachment in my email. |

I actually subscribed to Onesuite for the sole purpose of having an online fax service. |
