For the last couple weeks any incoming call I receive is distorted and garbled to the point in which I cannot understand anything the caller is saying. Voice messages will have 1-5 seconds of clear message and then I cannot hear anything else. I have to hang up and call the person back and then everything is crystal clear.

I've only had Vonage service for a little over a month and it was working just fine (other than the stupid fax machine -- but I'll make another thread for that if required) until recently.

I did upgrade my dying Linksys WRT54G to a Linksys WRT600N. My whole network is wireless other than the Vonage V-Portal and the V-Portal is plugged directly into the router. I'm using Cox Cable. My phone is a Panasonic KX-TG1032S Dect 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone.

Could the new router be causing this? Maybe I overlooked some kind of configuration?

Are your speed test results from a wireless connection? First, I would hard wire directly to your router and rerun the test. If your AVRTT to server doesn't greatly improve, then run the test without your router in the mix. Wire a computer directly to your modem and see if the AVRTT improves greatly. If not, you definitely have an issue with your Cox service. You said you've only been a Vonage customer for about a month and an internet connection that seems great for browsing can be terrible for Voip. Your AVRTT certainly points to that.

I had the same issue when I first used my service in Mexico. I could call out ok, but incoming was unusable. I had the company fix my connection and viola.

I will do some more speed tests tonight.

The odd thing is that my Vonage service was working fine for about the first month and it wasn't until almost two weeks ago that this started happening.

Do you know what your ISP had to do in order to fix your connection?
