Post subject: Answering Machine - remote access
I just set up my
Vonage
phone. I have a Panasonic Answering machine which I used before. I just called my house, and I have a message. When I enter the remote access code, the machine does not respond to the tones. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You may have to reprogram your answering machine. It is not an uncommon occurrence for them to lose the remote access code information. Sort of a senior moment for microchips.

Thanks - this might help someone else. The machine was set up with a splitter. I have to swap the lines around once I got home and it worked. But I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't take the tones from outside the house
