Hi I am from chennai, India. I use Airtel's beetel 220bxi modem router for broadband. I have IP8100 Vonage connected directly to the modem via ethernet cable. My PC inturn is connected to the IP8100 router. I have enabled dhcp in the beetel modem. My Vonage was working very nicely for 2 months and somehow for the past few days it isn't. I went thru the setup instructions once again after pulling out all cables. I am getting internet connection if I connect my beetel modem directly with my pc. But with the ip8100, I do not get internet connectivity and so I cannot access the 192.168.15.1 site. could somebody enlighten me as to what is missing in my settings?

my connection speed is 100mbps. Setup of Network is Modem---->Vonage Adapter-->PC . I am unable to run the Voip test as I get an exception which causes IE to close.

Any help is appreciated.

my upload speed is 153 kbps and download speed is 237 kbps.

You do not have to have internet connectivity to access the Vonage router at 192.168.15.1.

Just connect your PC to it. Once you connect to it, I would suggest that you may need to clone you PC's MAC address to the Vonage device.

Thanx for your reply. There were frequent power cuts in my house during which time the Vonage stopped working. probably the intermittent switching on/off has messed up my router settings. I shall try out the 2 solutions listed in the link, one by one and respond.

Hi
I tried powering off the beetel modem/router for about 5 hrs and reconnected all using the setup instructions in ip8100 user guide (I changed the ethernet cable too). I was very disappointed to find that there was no light whatsoever (red, green or orange) in the 8100's ready indicator. But I am able to page the handset from the base unit, which indicates that the Vonage is getting power. As usual the LAN is not connected ==> no internet. The 192.168.15.1 site doesnt get displayed at all.

I did an ipconfig/all and the results are devastating. no ipaddress, no default gteway and no media is connected!!

1. How to get back the ready light?

2. What is meant by Vonage 'not ready' ?

3. Does this mean the ip8100 is unable to establish contact with the beetel modem even though dhcp is enabled?

Its kinda like this problem that the user had, but i cannot afford another Vonage phone.
