Why doesn't anybody make a wireless router for vonage that works or lasts. The First one I bought myself was a Linksys to replace a wired Linksys. It worked fine (although hot) for almost a year. Linksys insisted it had to be returned for warranty by Vonage who returned to me a D-link VWR. I was able to install and configure it out of the box and it seemed to be a great device with nice features once I became familiar with it's setup until the power blinked off the first time and I noticed that it reset to factory defaults. No problem I thought and then I discovered the backup/restore feature was a cruel hoax and I had to reconfigure it every single time the power was interupted. When I talked to customer support I was informed that Motorola(VT 2542) also makes a Vonage compatible wireless router. My hopes were high until I searched costomer reviews on these forums. Seems all the reviews I've read here and other places(New Egg) suggest these two suffer from almost the same problem. It appears your options are: cook all your meals on the Linksys until it goes cold in a few months or spend your spare time practicing to become a 1,000hr.certified professional router programer. |

It might be nice if someone made the Vonage box that you want. For now, I would advise that you buy a good wireless router with QoS control, and use whatever Vonage box you have behind it, strictly as a phone adapter. |

I'm using the Dlink DIR-655 and I'm loving it.
So much control, so many features, so easy to use. Clearist sound quality I've had with vonage in many years since I have switched. |
