PLEASE HELP! I recently got Vonage and it's pretty good.
I'm on day 14 of the 30-day money back guarantee.
When I call other people, their caller ID boxes usually say
just my number, out-of-area, unknown caller, or nothing
at all. This isn't reallly a problem for my friends..
However, I have been refused service twice by the local
Domino's Pizza store. The manager was very polite and
explained to me that if they don't see my caller ID info
with at least just a number, their corporate policy is not
to accept the order. (they have no problems when I
call back and order with my cell phone, which has an
out-of-state area code!) He said it was a safety issue
for their delivery drivers. The guy was very nice and
even took $5 off when I called back a few seconds later
to place the order.(using a cell phone)
Does anybody know what I should do? is this an issue
that I need to address with Vonage or Domino's corporate?
Thanks! |

I suggest ordering online. That should help resolve your issue. You will not have your caller ID info fixed anytime soon. |

Try dialing *82 and then dial Domino's number. This should show at least the phone number you are calling from. |

WOW! THANKS! That worked like a charm! I gave Domino's
a test call with *82 and they immediately saw my number.
Wait a minutes.... doesn't this mean that Vonage is the culprit
that block caller ID infor? |

I think Vonage might be blocking your outbound caller id. You should contact them to see if that's the case. |

What does *82 do? I don't see it listed anywhere on Vonage site. I know dialing *67 and then the number blocks your caller id being shown. |

*82 does the opposite of *67, as it exposes your caller id even if your outbound caller id is normally blocked. I knew this trick from the old land-line days. |

Let's not forget the second lesson here. Call Domino's with your CID blocked. Then call back on your cell phone to get $5 off! |
