Post subject: Caller ID Issues
From when I signed up in 2004 until 11/207. . . my caller ID use to display my name and telephone number. . . since November it has displayed
Just my number
Vonage
Holdings
Vonage
Unknown
Unavailable
Out of Area
and as of today. . now it displays Service Provider
This is from my
Vonage
phone to my parents home. My parents are over 80 years old and they will not pick up any calls that they do not know.
I just can't believe that
Vonage
can't do anything about this. If they can keep changing to all these . . . why can't they just put my name and number back the way it was. I have talked to people that are experienced with XO operations. . . and they say it can be done.
I have talked to so many people telling me so many stories that it could almost make you laugh. . . they have blamed it on the previous carrier. . . then on the carrier of the people that I call. .. my parents for one. . . that they must be updating or having maintenance on their system. . . well from 2004 to 11/2007. . . you tell me no one updated nor maintained their system. . .I find this hard to believe. .. now all of a sudden they are??? The latest story is that their contract with XO - my carrier. . .which I did not hire. . . is only suppose to display out of area or unknown. .. I can't remember. . . I am just so upset.
I just had to call them back. . to let them know about the new term displayed . .. Service Provider. . . and someone else said that they have made adjustments on my router from there and that should take care of it. . . does one hand know what the other is doing?
They make promises that it will be taken care of in 48 to 72 hours. . . and it is not. .. then they say that they will have someone call me back. . and they never do. . . I keep getting e-mails from them telling me that my issues have been resolved. . . and they have not been resolved.
Somewhere along the way. . . some one at
Vonage
said that this was going to be taken care of soon. . . for they have petitioned the FCC. . . but are waiting for them to respond. . . but you know how long it takes the government to do anything. . . which seems really funny. .. because the last person I talked to said that
Vonage
is not FCC regulated. . . I wonder if X0 are not regulated by the FCC . . anybody out there know what is truly going on? If they are my carrier. . . why won't they do what I want?
This can't be so difficult . . . can it. .. with all this technology.
