I am san miguel, mexico and have been using my Vontage affectively through cable. About a week ago, I found that while I could make calls, when people called me, the calls went to my Vonage mail box. I have full internet usage and my mail box at Vontage is set so that the calls should be coming directly to me. Is anyone else having these problems. You can e-mail me directly at highered.marketing@gmail.com |

No problems for me in Mexico. Although, I'm using DSL at the moment. I've used a cable company in the past though. Are you sure you don't have any settings such as call forwarding enabled? Have you tried increasing the voicemail pickup time from 20 to perhaps 30 seconds? Did you reboot your adapter and modem? You are in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato? Who is your provider there? |

I have done all of what you suggest and no ones seems to be able to figure out a solution. The funny thing is that the arrangement and equipment have worked well for nearly a year. All the settings have been checked as well as the connections and the Vonage voice mail. I am coming to wonder if the cable system ( the only one in SmA) have some issues with upload and download speed. I have also heard that folks with DSL here have had similar issues. The only other possibility is that Vonage is having trouble with some of its routers and perhaps its voice mail system |

Run the Voip speedtest and post the results. It may provide some clues. |

I have run the speedtest per instructions of our cable company and came up with download of 954 and upload of 419. The questions that I have are: is it possible that the cable company has lowered speeds of cable that affect me particularly in my particular location? Is it fixable or do i consider switching to DSL. The cable speeds were apparently ok for nearly a year |

We had an issue last week in GDL.
The issue was resolved by powering down all the hardware for 10 minutes. ( cable modem, Vonage router, ect. ). |

Actually the cable company was out here and re-ran my speed tests and thought that there was problem on street generally so they are coming out to do something this week. Perhaps this was the problem. Customer support at Vonage has been "clueless". |

In the end what did they say ?
The MegaRed tech once saw my router and insisted that I had an illegal device connect up. This argument lasted several weeks and I had to remove it until they were happy. The Vonage router is connected using a wireless gaming gateway and it is out odf sight and out of mind. |

Well, i am still here in SM mexico with same problem. I can call out but all of the calls to me go to my Vonage mail box. The customer service suggestions have made no difference. The cable speed is ok and everything plugged into the Vonage router works including my PC and wireless. I have come to conclude that the problem is in the Vonage router which is a Lynksys model # RT 31P2. My phone is connected to it through line 1. I am thinking that I should try to connect phone through line 2 connect on router. Can I do this myself or do I have to ask the dummies at customer service. |
